well, except for when I paid 18 Euros (in 1994) to see them live and they only played 70 minutes, I felt so ripped off! Nirvana were a big thing for me in my late teens, and I'll always have great memories associated with them. Guess this DVD will put my synch efforts to rest forever now, eh? Hehe. wonderful evenings! What a beautiful combination with the pristine CD sound and that stage set. I remember buying the CD on the release date, and I'd invite my friends over to watch it, this time on synch with the CD. I don't like all that "he knew he didn't have much time left" bs. I tell you, it was pretty special even when he was alive. Then Kurt died and this performance got a certain "aura" about it. Some time later I got a bootleg audio recording and I used to try and synch it with the video tape to have it louder than the tv set would allow. I also found it funny that even an "unplugged" setting wouldn't stop Kurt from using some distortion on his guitar, hehe. I remember watching the Unplugged performance for the first time and loving it. and at the same time they sounded heavy and powerful! It struck a chord within me and I became an avid fan immediately. such a change from the kind of music I was used to (heavy metal), these guys seemed to play and sing like they didn't give a damn, such abandon. I even wrote the date down on one of my school books: Dec 9th, 1991. I was a big fan of Nirvana from the very first day I heard them on the radio. "Unplugged in NY" was released on CD Nov 1, 1994 But, in my dreams, Kurt's usually been hiding - we'll get together and I'll end up asking him, 'God, where have you been?'" It always feels totally real, probably because I'm a very vivid dreamer. Grohl explained, "Every time I see him in a dream, I'll be amazed and I get this feeling that everyone else thinks he's dead. Meanwhile, ex-NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl told NME that he dreams about Cobain to this day. The original CD of the show was issued in late 1994 and was the first NIRVANA release after frontman Kurt Cobain's death in April of that year. "MTV Unplugged in New York" will make its DVD debut on November 20, almost exactly 14 years after the band taped the show on November 18, 1993. The DVD will also feature four songs from the band's sound check, previously unavailable behind-the-scenes footage and a 20-minute documentary. The full, unedited version runs 66 minutes. I'd really like to re-release (NIRVANA's 1993 album) 'In Utero' in that way at some point." It really invites you in and I'm sure everyone will enjoy it in a new way. You can hear what each instrument is doing. Novoselic said, "The new 5.1 sound really opens it up and it gave me a new appreciation for the songs. The disc will feature both the original broadcast and the complete, unedited show, newly remixed in 5.1 digital surround sound. The Pulse of Radio reports: Reclusive NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic told NME.com that he's looking forward to the DVD premiere of the band's "MTV Unplugged in New York" performance, 14 years after it was first filmed and recorded.
